Grand Traverse County COVID-19 Community Update - June 10, 2020

DAILY NUMBERS AND COMMUNITY TESTING
The Grand Traverse County Health Department (GTCHD) reports 34 positive cases, 6 probable cases, 18 recoveries, and 5 deaths in Grand Traverse County residents. Additional statistics are available on the County’s dashboard

Two new positive cases have been reported since Monday’s update (6/8/20).

  • Female in her 40’s, asymptomatic, no known community exposure

The GTCHD is beginning to receive testing results from the National Guard drive-through community testing held on May 30 and 31 at Turtle Creek Stadium. 835 people, mostly from the Grand Traverse region participated. 27% of the results for tests conducted on Grand Traverse County residents have come back. Of those results, 4 were positive (these are reflected in the  GT County numbers reported), 209 negative, 3 invalid samples (that could not be tested), for a total of 216 returned test results. The results for 10 out of county resident tests also came back and all were negative. In addition, voluntary congregate care facility testing was also conducted, resulting in 1 new case (which is reflected in the 34 total positive cases in GT County residents), 14 were negative, and one was invalid. A total of 19 test results have come back from this testing effort, but more results are expected.

The GTCHD will report test results when the information is provided by the testing facility. The fastest way for individuals tested at this event to get results is through the patient portal at bioreference.com/patient-portal.  Start by selecting “Test Results” then “Create An Account.”

Regionally, Munson Healthcare is reporting COVID-19 testing results on its website for each of its hospitals. Numbers listed are by hospital, not county of residence.

Michigan has reported 59,107 positive cases and 5,698 deaths of COVID-19. 42,041 have recovered in Michigan.
